Name: Think Globally, Act Locally: Pursuing Wildlife Connectivity Across our Highways
Date: March 26, 2026
Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM MDT
Event Description:
On March 26, the Wood River Land Trust (WRLT) and the Center for Large Landscape Conservation (CLLC) will co-host a special community presentation at The Community Library in Ketchum featuring the work behind the regional effort to develop a Wildlife-Vehicle Conflict Long-Range Mitigation Plan for Blaine County. Titled “Pursuing
Wildlife Connectivity Across Our Highways”, the evening will feature CLLC’s road ecologist Elizabeth Fairbank and data scientist Jamie Faselt. With an introduction from the WRLT Community Planning Director Cece Albertson, the speakers will share about the regional coordination and data analysis at the foundation of the Wildlife-Vehicle Conflict Long-Range Mitigation Plan in development for Blaine County. Showing where we can best connect wildlife across the human geography of the valley, attendees will gain insight into:
  • The valley’s most dangerous wildlife-vehicle collision “hotspots”
  • Proven strategies to keep drivers safe and animal habitats connected
  • How effective regional coordination will bring about local solutions

The lecture will be followed by a Chat & Cheers reception at the Sun Valley Contemporary Gallery, where guests can continue the conversation over drinks & light snacks.

You can RSVP for the lecture directly on the Community Library's website. No RSVP required for Chat & Cheers.
