Name: History Happy Hour: A Woman’s Place
Date: August 6, 2020
Time: 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
Women have a profound and dynamic impact on the places where they live, work, and recreate. In Idaho, many historic sites and structures embody the empowering stories of women who have shaped the narrative of our state, such as the archaeological dig at Givens Hot Springs in the 1980’s. Each year the Idaho State Historic Preservation Office organizes and promotes statewide opportunities for the public to learn about Idaho archaeology, history, and historic preservation. Please join the Idaho State Museum during this virtual History Happy Hour Zoom event with Dan Everhart (Outreach Historian, Idaho State Historic Preservation Office) and Lyndsay Johansson (State Archaeologist, Idaho State Historic Preservation Office) as we discuss impactful and influential women of Idaho, past and present. Alison Espindola (Event & Rental Coordinator, Idaho State Museum) will moderate the discussion and share your questions you submit to the Q&A chat field or ahead of time to events@ishs.idaho.gov. Visit our friends at Indian Creek Winery before the event to pick up a favorite bottle of wine (like their Mountain Syringa or Star Garnet!). Then head home, get comfortable in your favorite chair, and enjoy another virtual History Happy Hour with the Idaho State Museum! Make sure to register early for this complementary event; space is limited to the first 100 registrants.
