5B Resilience Gardens is offering a Fall Garden Workshop at the Grange Garden. This hands-on, outdoor workshop will include: constructing a 3-bin composting system, harvesting potatoes from a potato tower, preparing garden beds for the winter, a seed saving discussion, and fall planting techniques. What to bring: • Work gloves, tools & supplies (details upon registration) • Compost materials: green matter for nitrogen (non-meat and dairy food waste, fresh lawn clippings, fresh manure) and brown matter for carbon (dried leaves, shredded paper, bark pieces) • Your own homemade compost • Lunch to enjoy in the garden! For those interested, we will exchange finished compost to enhance the biodiversity of existing composting systems in the community.
