Name: ERC Climate Change Film Screening
Date: May 12, 2016
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM MDT
Event Description:
Join the Environmental Resource Center (ERC) on Thursday, May 12 at 6pm at the Community Library in Ketchum for a special screening of Avi Lewis’ climate change documentary “This Changes Everything” based on Naomi Klein’s critically-acclaimed book.

This new film, released in the fall of 2015, explores the connection between the climate change crisis and our failed economic system and examines how we might transform it into something radically better.  Follow the story of seven communities on the front lines of climate change from Montana’s Powder River Basin to the Alberta Tar Sands, from the coast of South India to Beijing and beyond.  This film does not scare its audience into action but rather aims to empower them - leaving viewers inspired, reflecting on the ties between us, the kind of lives we really want and why the climate crisis is at the center of it all. The film’s closing statement “what if confronting the climate crisis is the best chance we’ll ever get to build a better world?” certainly provides food for thought.

On Tuesday, May 17 at 6pm at the Community Library, follow up on this viewing with the ERC’s Environmental Book Series which will discuss Naomi Klein’s “This Changes Everything” and provide a venue for conversation on the connection between climate change and capitalism.
