"Special Spring Events start off the season in Hailey"
Fiddle Entertainment and Championships, Arborfest & Mud Run, Home & Garden Show & Rodeos on deck in May
 
There is always something happening in Hailey, Idaho, and this spring the town will feature some unique, fun events showcasing music, arts, cowboys & cowgirls, gardening, trees and mud.

Get your 'spring' on by checking out the 3rd annual Kiwanis Home & Garden Show, April 30 - May 1 at the Campion Ice House in Werthheimer Park in Hailey.  The event is free to the public with a variety of local vendors offering great ideas for spring home and garden improvements. Hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday April 30 and from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Sunday, May 1.

The Fiddlers of Idaho will once again hold the Idaho State Fiddle Championships in Hailey, May 6-7 at the Community Campus Performing Arts Theatre.  A special part of the event, the Entertainment Night concert on Friday, May 6 from 6:30 - 8:30pm, will include performances by several nationally-known musicians. Radio celebrity Vern Lattin will emcee the concert that features the group Betty Jane and fiddlers Tim Hodgson of Bar J Wranglers, Matt Renner, Makaela and Lani Shippy, Sharlee Anderson, Jesse Maw and Bob Erickson. Fiddlers Inc. will provide pre-show entertainment. Tickets are $10.00 Adults (18-64); $8.00 Seniors (65 and above); $5.00 Youth (7-17), (six and under free) and can be purchased in advance through Richard@fiddlersofidaho.org or at the door. Proceeds from the concert will go to support the annual State Fiddle Championship.  On Saturday, May 7, watch the state's top youth and adult fiddlers compete in the Fiddlers of Idaho State Championship, 9:00am  - 8:00pm, also at the same theatre.

The City of Hailey is hosting its 5th annual ArborFest & Mud Run in the Wood River Valley on Saturday, May 14 at Hop Porter Park to celebrate earth, trees and fun in the mud. The centerpiece Mud Run is a challenging obstacle course event that draws mud-loving extreme sports enthusiasts into the area and event proceeds benefit trees and local businesses. 'Mudders' can register in advance or on the day of the event. Family members, friends and those not interested in competing in the Mud Run race challenge are invited to the park to cheer on the participants and enjoy a festival atmosphere with food, beverages, and live music. Activities run all day from 11:00am - 3:00pm.
 
Rodeos are also part life in Hailey and part of the of the spring event line up, with several taking place at the Hailey Rodeo arena in Werthheimer Park in May. The 5th District High School Rodeo will showcase top student riders on Friday, May 13 at 7:00pm and Saturday, May 14 at 2:00pm.  And El Parralito Saloon Promotions will present a Mother's Day Rodeo and Dance on Sunday, May 22, at 2:00 pm.
