ERC Hosts “Weather in Idaho” program as part of its Spring Science Series

The ERC is thrilled to host the Spring Science Series with the Hailey Public Library, bringing scientists to the Wood River Valley and providing fun, free presentations for all ages.

Join us on Wednesday, May 4th at 5pm at the Hailey Public Library for a presentation by Travis Wyatt and Alex DeSmet of the National Weather Service on "Weather in Idaho."

This program will cover what the National Weather Service is and what it does. Participants will learn why we have different weather through a discussion of high and low pressure with fun experiments including cans and balloons.  Participants will learn about normal weather patterns as well as this year's El Nino pattern and the corresponding season outlook.

The Spring Science Series is associated with the ERC's Spring Exploration Series, a program that brings experts from various scientific fields to all 2nd and 3rd grade students in the public and private schools of Blaine County. Every spring for six consecutive weeks, more than 500 children attend each of these interactive visits, learning about a wide variety of science topics. This program is in its 18th year and is offered free of charge to schools and participants.
