Sun Valley Earns Golf Digest "Best Resorts of The Americas" Award
Editor's choice award recognizes resort as best in class for "total golf lifestyle"
Sun Valley, Idaho -April 21, 2016 - Today Golf Digest honored Sun Valley Resort with the Editor's Choice Award for Best Resorts of The Americas 2016, recognizing the iconic year-round resort for its challenging courses, pristine views, and superior product.
Long known as a guide for best public courses, resorts and destinations in the U.S. and around the globe, Golf Digest is extending its rating to the "Best of" in the total golf lifestyle, as compiled by course raters, Golf Digest rankings, and the magazine's editors.

Sun Valley tees off with nine holes open at the Elkhorn course and all nine holes open on the White Clouds course on Saturday, April 30. The alpine links-style, nine-hole White Clouds course offers 3,600 yards of play, with 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains. The Elkhorn Course, a semi-private course, showcases one of the last collaborations between the father-son duo of Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr. and provides a water hazard on every hole except one, making it one of the most challenging in Idaho. Trail Creek, Sun Valley's signature championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., spans a sweeping 6,968 yards and affords a full complement of stream carries and ominous bunkers.
