Hailey Greenway Master Plan Project Kicks off with July 12 Public Workshop

The City of Hailey and the Wood River Land Trust are asking for your help. We need public input to develop the Hailey Greenway Master Plan. This master planning process will help us plan for one of Hailey’s most important assets: The Big Wood River and its adjacent lands.

The Hailey Greenway encompasses 350 acres and 1.5 miles of the Big Wood River from the Bullion bridge downstream to the Colorado Gulch bridge. This area consists of public and private land, two public parks (Lions Park and Heagle Park), and two nature preserves owned by the Land Trust. The goal of this Master Plan is to guide current and future development within the greenway to ensure connectivity and integration of appropriate land uses and river system management throughout the corridor.

The public is invited to the first public outreach meeting, to be held on Wednesday, July 12th, 2017, 5:30-7:00pm at the Wood River Land Trust’s Pavilion, just south of Lions Park. Additional outreach meetings will be held in early August.

The City and Land Trust welcomes the public to join and share ideas and give feedback on greenway needs for Land (uses, connections, wildlife habitat), Water (aquatic habitat, stream restoration, floodplain functionality), and People (recreation, educational opportunities).
