Name: The Cottages of Sun Valley Ground Breaking Ceremony Aug 4
Date: August 4, 2015
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM MDT
Event Description:

The Cottages of Sun Valley is proud to announce their official new location on the plot of land that rests on the corner of State Hwy 75/McKercher.
The Cottages will be building two Cottages on the corner of State Hwy 75/McKercher. All construction will be state-of-the-art for quality, beauty, comfort, and security with many eco-friendly “green” elements.
The primary theme for which this assisted living and memory care business is known is exceptional care and delicious home-cooked meals in an extraordinarily beautiful, safe, secure, and homelike environment. Local antiques and vintage treasures give The Cottages a timeless ambience. Residents love the charming salon, the full calendar of social events, and life-enhancing activities. Each building will have no more than 16 residents. One of the homes will be dedicated to the specialized Memory Care of elderly with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. The Cottages have been warmly received by the Hailey community and appreciates the support.
Technology is embraced with Blue Step, an on-line tool used to track medication management and assistance provided in “real time.” Residents are encouraged, and assisted if needed, to use wireless high speed internet and Skype to stay in touch with family and friends. There is on-site staff 24/7, and an RN is always on call and available. Residents have call buttons for immediate assistance, and security cameras monitor all common areas. There is a secure outdoor area for residents receiving Memory Care. The affordable monthly fee depends on assistance that is needed and includes a beautiful spacious apartment with individual climate control, use of all common areas and amenities, all utilities, cable, telephone, wireless high speed internet, meals, housekeeping, laundry, medication management, and social activities.
The smaller home often attracts those who would be uncomfortable in larger facilities. Smaller homes, like The Cottages, tend to give more personalized care because the residents are much more visible and accessible. In larger facilities the residents are often isolated in their apartments, out of the view of staff and social activities. At The Cottages families and residents notice the higher staff ratios, and usually the result is more personalized care and happier residents.
Approximately 20 full-time jobs with benefits and several part-time jobs will be generated. In addition The Cottages provides exceptional working conditions, benefits, and compensation for all of their valued employees. When employees are happy about their working conditions, turnover is greatly reduced, and they do a better job in providing tender care for the residents and guests. When residents are happy about their home they are healthier and their quality of life increases. All guests are warmly welcomed. The mission statement at The Cottages is “We Treat People Right”, and we live it. The Cottages enjoys a favorable and well respected reputation in the health care industry, and they look forward to future local alliances with the local community.
Seniors have a growing need for quality options in the surrounding area. The fastest growing segment of our population is the 82-year-old female which is the heart of the assisted living business. The first of the baby boomers turned 65 years old in 2011. Baby boomers now number 88.5 million and represent almost one third of the US population. According to the 2011 Census data, there are over 41 million Americans 65 years and older. Another 18 million will turn 65 years old within the next 5 years. Every day, 10,000 people turn 65 years old, and this trend will continue until the year 2050.
Garold Maxfield, Founder/Owner of The Cottages Assisted Living, has had over 20 years of experience in the assisted living business and has successfully developed and operated many homes of similar size in SW Idaho, Texas and Missouri. Mark Caplow, Anita Northwood, and Justin Yarmark are partners with Garold on this project.
