Welcome to the Sun Valley Writers' Conference, where, for four days, SVWC writers and readers laugh and learn, hike and talk, and stretch the limits of their imagination. The days are filled with books, ideas, stimulation and fun. Extraordinary writers and thinkers talk with an engaged audience about their work, the world, and discuss why literature matters. Be a part of the experience by joining us at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 21 on the lawn of the Sun Valley Pavilion to hear National Book Award-winning Novelist Alice McDermott deliver her talk "Remembrance of Things that Never Happened." Following her lecture at 5:30 PM, we will hear from Biographer, Historian and Journalist Andrew Roberts with his talk titled "Churchill: Walking with Destiny." You do NOT need to reserve spots in advance for Lawn Talks. Gates will open for access 30 minutes prior to the first talk each day. If you have any questions, please email or call 208-726-5454. THE FINE PRINT: - Entry only permitted at Pavilion East Entrance or back of upper lawn next to SVWC tent. - Gates open at 3:30 PM. No early seating. - Seating on grass only. Please no high-backed chairs. - In the unlikely event that extreme weather necessitates a change in talk location, lawn access will not be available.
