Name: Outsider Corps - Women Making Waves for Nature
Date: January 9, 2019
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM MST
Event Description:
Join Cathryn Wild, of Seventh Generation Institute, for an inspiring night about the nature and people of Bonaire and the challenges posed by tourism, invasive species and climate change. The women of Bonaire do not need to “discover” that women are critical to conservation - they have been leading the effort for a decade, getting their hands dirty and their feet wet, integrating nature with culture, and using the unique skills of women. We will update you on our latest project on the island of Bonaire and share more and bigger projects in the planning pipeline - with your help - working with local partner organization Echo Bonaire. We will describe past, present and future efforts and how you can help - on the island or from your armchair. This presentation is part of celebrating the Institute’s new program on Women in Conservation. We hope that every woman in the Wood River Valley will join us for this special night of celebrating this program locally and globally.
