Geology of the Wood River Valley – field trip Friday, June 23, 2018; 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Dr. Paul Link, Idaho State University Department of Geosciences professor, will lead an all-day exploration of the Valley’s fascinating geology and how it influences native plants, garden soils, mining, earthquakes and floods. Participants should meet at 8:30 AM at Sawtooth Botanical Garden to carpool and will visit several different sites via car and foot, returning to SBG by 3:00 PM. Cost: $10 SBG members/ $12 nonmembers. Space is limited; preregistration recommended. Details at www.sbgarden.org. SBG is located at 11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum.
