Award-winning author, speaker, and television personality Daniel Pink will kick-off the Blaine County School District Strategic Plan on Thursday, January 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater at the Community Campus in Hailey, Idaho.
In this lecture, Pink will discuss why innovation is a top concern of organizations around the world and why it is critical to create a culture of innovation. In an entertaining and provocative presentation, Pink will show the audience how to build that culture, both in public education and in our community. The best-selling author of Drive, A Whole New Mind, and To Sell is Human, will explain which environments promote innovation - and which suffocate it. He will describe why people accept some breakthroughs and reject others.
Due to high demand for the lecture, free tickets for reserved seating in the theater are no longer available. However, there will be a standby line for unclaimed tickets. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, unclaimed tickets will be redistributed first come-first served at the front desk of the Community Campus in Hailey. People who have reserved tickets need to pick them up at the Community Campus by the end of the day on Wednesday, January 14. The hours of the front desk at the Community Campus are from 8:00 a.m.-7:300 p.m. for ticket pick-up.
There will also be overflow seating and a live webcast of the event at the following locations:
A map of parking areas at the Community Campus is available with the Daniel Pink information at www.blaineschools.org. Shuttles will run to and from the North and East parking lots. Additionally, overflow parking will be available at Alturas Elementary with shuttle service to the Community Campus. Mountain Rides also stops in front of the Community Campus.
