Name: Boise Vet Center - Outreach to Veterans in Hailey with Mobile Vet Center (MVC)
Date: May 4, 2016
Time: 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
Community and Veterans are encouraged to come tour the Mobile Vet Center Vehicle (MVC).  The Vet  Center is a program under the Department of Veteran Affairs.  Our mission consists of outreach, counseling services, and referral to other services. The Vet Center is a national program that employs 80% of their staff as prior military veterans who also have professional degrees.
We can assist veterans and/or community in understanding veteran benefits and where they can get assistance for services like medical, GI Benefits for education, filing disability claims, and our specialty of readjustment counseling for the veteran, their spouse, and family members if needed.  That is a free and confidential service for those who served in a combat environment. We also provide counseling to survivors of Military Sexual Assault and bereaved families that lost a loved one serving anywhere on Active Duty, going back to Sept 2001. Mobile Vet Center Vehicles also have a secondary mission for Disaster Recovery.
