Name: Bleeding Hearts
Date: September 10, 2020 - September 13, 2020
Event Description:
Sloane isn't sure why exactly her husband Timothy brought home a probably dangerous drifter with a knife, but she doesn’t like it. Of course, it's hard to focus when her wealthy neighbor keeps dropping by to steal anything not nailed down. And then things get violent. Steve Yockey's "Bleeding Hearts", presented by Opal Theatre Company, is a breakneck, pitch black farce about the disappearing middle class and how people forget to put themselves in each other’s shoes. To accommodate public health measures, each actor filmed their own scenes at home while the director, Daniel Vogt, directed them in video conferences. This will be the first Opal production to reach audiences outside the Treasure Valley. The company produced the world premiere reading of “Bleeding Hearts” at White Dog Brewing in April 2019. The upcoming digital release will be the first production of Yockey’s script since the premiere reading. “Bleeding Hearts” is a dark comedy intended for a mature audience.
