Event Description:
The Sun Valley Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome celebrated author Ann Patchett as part of the 2014–2015 Lecture Series.
Patchett is known as a champion of literary culture. Her friend and novelist Elizabeth Gilbert describes her as “a woman of wisdom, determination, generosity and courage.”
Patchett is an award-winning writer of such acclaimed and well-loved novels as The Magician’s Assistant, State of Wonder, and Run. In addition, she co-owns the independent bookstore Parnassus Books in Nashville, Tennessee. She and her partner founded the bookstore as “a venue for writers to connect with readers, and for readers to connect with books”—an answer to the widespread disappearance of such institutions.
“We are lucky to welcome Ann Patchett to our valley. Her work is well known and loved by so many,” said Katelyn Ziegler, Director of Education and Humanities, of the author’s upcoming visit.
The 2014–2015 Lecture Series is generously sponsored by Jane P. Watkins.
