Event Description:

The Quick Response Unit Fundraiser is held annually in an effort to offer appreciation and some much needed financial support for some local heroes!

This year will be the 9th Annual QRU Fundraiser. As a committee made up of volunteers from all walks of life, we set aside one day every year to bring awareness and offer our appreciation for their amazing dedication and sacrifice.

These men and women often give up their evenings, weekends, and family time to stand on call at rodeos, ball games, and more. They are first responders to emergencies and their units operate using funds raised throughout the year through various avenues. These heroes are always ready to drop their daily activities to respond to an emergency call for help in our local rural areas that so many of us enjoy riding and playing in. 

The annual event is held at the Filer Fairgrounds Park on the first Sunday after Memorial Day.  This year, on June 5th, the events throughout the day include a registration pancake breakfast, a motorcycle challenge run that included over 500 registrants last year with stops at each of the QRU locations, live entertainment by DoubleBack, raffle, evening BBQ, bounce house, photo booth and much more!!  

100% of all proceeds raised at the event will be divided equally among 9 local Magic Valley QRUs; West End (Paul), Filer, Buhl, Hagerman, Salmon Tract (Hollister), Rupert, Rock Creek (Kimberly) Bliss, and Castleford.  As the event grows in the coming years and participation mounts, we are optismistic that this annual event will benefit even more QRUs to ensure they can get the training, equipment, and awareness needed to continue to "Answer the call" and save lives.
