Celebrate Earth Day
Hello all.
The Earth Day "Green Expo" will occur next Weds, April 22nd at Ketchum Town Square from 4 - 7 pm.
I will be there representing Wood River Seed Library and invite all who have seeds to share and/or need seeds for this coming growing season to stop by and join in on the "seedfest."
Thanks to Pam Street, Jini Griffith, Judy Foster, Miles Teitge, Marie
Mohler, Keith Selner, Manon Gaudreau and Johnny Seedlove we have an
excellent, albeit limited, selection of locally grown seeds to
distribute. I will also have 4 boxes of organic seed potatoes grown
by Mike Heath, 60 day to mature oreganic sweet corn and other choice,
regionally grown organic seeds I have gathered along the way such as
purple carrots, scarlet chard and giant sunflowers!
Prior to the Green Fair, from 2 - 3 pm The WRSL will help the
Community Library inaugurate it's newly created seed library! Please
stop by to celebrate this opening and be sure to thank librarian Pam
Parker and the rest of the library staff for giving us the space to
share seeds with the community in this way.

On April 22, Earth Day, at 6 pm, the Wood River Seed Library will present a 1½ hour panel discussion and Q & A in Hailey at the Wood River Sustainability Center, located at 308 South River St. This free-of-charge panel discussion will feature a handful of experienced local gardeners who will share their knowledge on a range of topics including when and what to plant, soil health, garden design and pest management. All Wood River growers are welcome to attend and join the discussion which will be specifically oriented to assist and share local growing tips for beginning gardeners.
